FAQ's
What style of photographer are you?
We document all the details of your day as it unfolds. We capture all of the emotions of everyone involved in the day. We also take traditional posed pictures of the bride and groom, wedding party, and family.
Can I view an entire wedding or family gallery?
We would love to have you see an entire gallery! We have the password protected for the privacy of the couple, but we can let you peek into a couple if you ask. Most of the galleries have 1000+ pictures in them and viewing them will help you see exactly what we capture during the day.
How many photographs will you take at my wedding?
Gobs! Honestly, there is no easy answer to this; it really depends on the individual wedding. A four hour wedding averages 500-1000 images, and longer weddings vary greatly.
How many photographs will you take of my family?
A ton! You will end up with at least 50 images. Some families end up with 4 times that many. It will depend on how the children (and adults) of the group are liking the session.
When are payments due?
A signed contract and a retainer are required to reserve your wedding date. The balance is due two weeks prior to your wedding. Child and family portrait session fees are due at the time of the session.
How do I pay?
Cash, personal check, and credit card are accepted.
Are there extra fees for multiple locations?
No. You book me for a fixed length of time and we cover as many (or as few) locations as you want during that time.
Do you shoot film or digital? What kind of equipment do you use?
We are 100% digital. We shoot with professional grade Canon equipment.
Do you have back-up equipment?
We do bring a back-up Canon camera with us to the wedding, as well as extra lenses in case something happens and a piece of equipment stops working. It has never happened, but we’re safe just in case.
What if something happens and you can’t be at my wedding for some reason?
We have not ever had this problem, but if something were to happen we would try our hardest to find a suitable replacement photographer. We network with several other great WPJA photographers for this very reason. If we were unable to complete our duties, a full refund would be given, including the retainer fee.
What if I would like services/products not included in the options?
Just ask! We’d be happy to research exactly what you want and mostly likely can supply it!
Will you be the actual photographer on my wedding day?
Without a doubt! We are the only two photographers working for Kurz Studio Photography. We will be there photographing your wedding day.
How do we know exactly what to expect from you?
You can expect professionalism mixed with fun! I'm hard working, yet easy going and I give it my all to capture the beauty of your wedding day. The images you see on my web site and my blog are a representation of the style of images you can expect to see.
What area do you cover? Do you charge travel fees?
We are based in Tampa and Sebring, Florida, but will gladly travel anywhere! There are no travel fees for weddings in the greater Tampa area, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Sebring, Lake Placid, Avon Park, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, or Wesley Chapel. Please ask about specific pricing for Destination Weddings.
Do you retouch the photographs?
Each image you receive will be inspected, color corrected, and exposure balanced if needed. If Uncle Bob got a bad sunburn because he couldn’t resist the allure of Clearwater Beach the day before the wedding, we will do our best to de-lobster him. If your skin is not as clear as you hoped for on wedding day, we can also work with that situation. Specific retouching requests can be made as well.
Can we request specific shots?
Absolutely! It's very important to have a specific list of formal family and wedding party portraits that you would like taken on the wedding day. This helps the photography process flow much more smoothly during the posed shots. We prefer that you complete this list and email it to us a month or so before the wedding so that we can be sure to get all of the groupings of people you want. We have on occasion received a long list of necessary shots wanted throughout the ceremony. We do our best to accommodate, but due to the nature of wedding photography we cannot guarantee a specific shot. We can be in the perfect spot waiting to snap the photo when someone inadvertently moves between us and the moment.
How soon will the photographs be ready?
We try to get a few sneak peak images on our blog within 72 hours of the wedding. Your online viewing gallery will be available within 2 month from your wedding. Your disc of images will be mailed by the 2 month mark. Prints take 2-3 weeks and album creation takes 6-10 weeks.
Can you do black and white images?
Yes, black and white and sepia toned images are available. We can also do fancy, artsy images if you request them. Let us know what styles you like and how many (relatively speaking) of them you want. Typically we edit most of the images as color and include 30% or so as black and white.
What will you wear to the wedding?
Drew usually wears dark pants and a button down shirt in a color that doesn’t attract attention. I wear black pants and a dressy black blouse. If your wedding lends itself to different attire (dressier or more casual,) just let us know and we’ll be happy to dress accordingly!
